Discipline Guard for MT4
MT4 risk manager EA that keeps you inside your own rules
Discipline Guard is a risk panel for MetaTrader 4. It sizes every trade from your stop-loss and risk %, keeps your total open risk under a cap, and stops new trades when your daily loss limit is reached. It never opens a trade by itself.
No payment. Start on a demo account. MT4 on Windows or a VPS.
Most bad days start with one broken rule
You know your rules. Risk 1%. Stop after three losses. Never trade without a stop-loss.
Then a trade goes wrong. You open a bigger one to win it back. You move the stop. By the evening, one bad trade has become a bad week.
A risk manager EA does not make you a better analyst. It makes the rules you already have hard to break, in the minutes when breaking them feels right.
What the risk manager does on your MT4 chart
Lot size from your stop-loss
Drag the stop-loss line on the chart. The panel sets the lot size from your risk %, so a loss costs what you planned. A market trade uses 2 lines (stop and target). A pending order uses 3 (entry, stop and target).
Daily loss limit EA: the day ends when your limit is reached
Set your daily loss limit once. The panel shows "Loss today" on your chart. When the limit is reached, it locks new trades for the rest of the day. For prop firm accounts, set your limit below the firm's limit, so the panel stops you before the firm's rule does.
Open risk stays under your cap
Set one cap for all open trades together. A new trade is fitted into the risk that is left, or blocked. Commission can be counted in the risk if you want.
A trade journal with screenshots
Every trade is saved with a screenshot when it opens and when it closes, plus a note with the details. Weekly and monthly reports open in any browser. The files stay on your computer.
Also inside: news alerts that pause new trades around high-impact releases, session lines for Asia, Europe, London and New York, a daily profit goal, a margin cap, and a daily limit that tightens on weekdays that keep costing you money.
Alerts only, or auto-manage
You decide what happens when a rule breaks.
- Alerts only: the panel warns you, for example "This trade has no stop-loss", and you decide.
- Auto-manage: the panel fixes it and, if you allow it, closes trades that break your rules.
Start with Alerts only if you are not sure. You can switch at any time.
What it never does
- It never opens a trade by itself. Orders go out only when you press its button, or when Auto-manage closes a trade that breaks your rules.
- It gives no signals. It does not tell you what to buy or sell.
- It does not upload your trades. Your journal and reports stay on your computer.
- It does not ask for your broker password. A key needs only your MT4 account number.

Questions
What is an MT4 risk manager EA?
It is an Expert Advisor that checks your risk while you trade. Discipline Guard sizes each trade from your stop-loss and risk %, caps your total open risk, and stops new trades when your daily loss limit is reached. It never opens a trade by itself.
How does the daily loss limit work?
You set the limit once, as a % of your account. The panel shows your loss today on the chart. When the limit is reached, it locks new trades for the rest of the day.
Can I use it on a prop firm account?
It runs on any MT4 account. Set your daily loss limit below your firm's limit, so the panel stops you before the firm's rule does. Read your firm's rules on EAs first.
Does it work on MT5?
Not yet. Discipline Guard runs on MT4 today. The MT5 version is coming soon and is not for sale yet. Follow @Disciplineguard on Telegram to hear when it is ready.
Will it trade for me?
No. It opens a trade only when you press its button. It gives no signals and does not choose your trades. You decide; the panel keeps you inside your own rules.
